It made sense at lower efficiencies, it‘s a monster of an an idea at higher efficiencies.</div> <bR> <div> Adding a sub makes for a full 20-beyond 20khz system at 95db and no=load 8ohm impedance. A flea’s best friend is an enhanced high frequency presentation where low power sometimes suffers. Now it is effortless, and non-irritating. Listening to much costlier tweeters forward is fine. Listening to great lower-cost tweeters in reverse is every bit as satisfying and not at all irritating. While not as high in efficiency, the sound is remarkably similar overall to the larger systems employing hardware costing three to four times more facing forward. Use of the tweeter allows a main driver with a lower natural resonance, extending the low end.
